Capitola
Capitola is an intimate beach village tucked in a river valley between Santa Cruz and Aptos. The city's wharf and riverside areas have been described as a sleepy little Mediterranean fishing village such as one would find in France or Italy.
Labor day weeked each year brings boats and floats covered in begonias parading down the river as the town celebrates its last fling of the summer with the Begonia Festival. The oldest seaside resort in California and the smallest city in Santa Cruz Count, Capitola has a size of approximately 2 square miles, a population of 10,500 and an average age of 38 years old.
